FAQs

There are our most frequently asked questions. If you cannot find the answer to your query, please contact us.

Is it painful?

Not at all. Clients may feel a moderate sucking sensation at the very start of the treatment followed by a gentle but not uncomfortable cooling around the treatment area. This soon disappears after the first few minutes of the treatment.

Clients may also feel a little tender in the first few days following the treatment.

Is it safe?

Completely. This is a completely non-invasive treatment. Some clients may experience some minor bruising following the treatment but in such cases, healing is usually very quick.

Are there any health issues that might prevent me from being treated?

Yes. Clients with the following conditions CANNOT be treated:

  • Clients with cancer, unless in remission for 2 years or more.
  • Cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases
  • Infectious diseases
  • Diagnosed or undergoing treatment for any form of mental disorder
  • Dermatitis or infection in the treatment area
  • A history of significant trauma or abnormal healing of wounds in the treatment area
  • Varicosity in the treatment area or surrounding areas
  • Abnormal blood coagulation or a client undertaking anti-coagulant therapy, diagnosed with haemophilia
  • Pregnant or nursing mothers
  • Serious heart disease or blood pressure with hypertension (>140-90mmHg)

  • Type 2 Diabetes
  • Recent surgery or minor operations within the last six weeks
  • Recent injury awaiting treatment/surgery
What parts of the body can be treated?

PureCryo can be used to treat the following areas:

  • Stomach
  • Male Chest
  • Back
  • Hips
  • Thighs
  • Knees
  • Buttocks
  • Arms
How many treatments will I need?

You can have a reduction in the fat layer within 12 weeks of the first treatment of PureCryo. PureCryo can also be complemented with our other inch-loss treatments to accelerate the process. This is optional, but we are here to help you achieve your goals so would like to see you during your 12 weeks. Up to 4 placements can be made during the 12 week treatment period and two areas can be treated in each 30-minute treatment session.

Do I have to exercise?

You don’t, as the fat cells will begin the process of dying after the first treatment. However, if you want better and faster results from your treatment we do encourage adopting a healthy lifestyle by making dietary changes, taking regular exercise and drinking plenty of water. Drinking your 2 litres a day is very important with PureCryo to help flush the system.

How long is each treatment session?

Each placement is 30 minutes, however, the PureCryo machine has two treatment heads that will allow two placements to be made simultaneously. You can have up to 4 placements per session, the maximum per 12 week treatment period. After 12 weeks, the same area(s) can be treated again if required. The number of placements required will depend on the size of the area to be treated and this will be agreed after the initial free consultation.

How long will it take to see results?

This can vary from client to client but a visible difference can be seen in as little a week following treatment. The total inch loss should be seen after 12 weeks.

Is the fat loss permanent?

The answer to this is in your own hands! It can certainly be permanent providing you maintain a healthy lifestyle. We really aim to get you to where you want to be.

Are there any after effects?

Some clients will experience mild bruising and numbness in the treated area. These are both temporary and both subside naturally with the bruising taking up to 10 days. There have been no recorded long term after effects.

Where does the fat go?

The fat cells in the treatment area are broken down by the body and are eliminated as part of the body’s natural process and is completely harmless.

Is it painful?

Not at all. The treatments are very relaxing and there is no down time whatsoever afterwards. The treatment could be given during a lunch break and you could return to work immediately afterwards. The laser paddles do generate some warmth, which is more noticeable after a second or third placement during the treatment. However, the warmth is a very comfortable and relaxing.

Is it safe?

Completely. The low level lasers operate at a wavelength that specifically targets only adipose fat cells. No other structures are effected in any way.

Are there any health issues that might prevent me from being treated?

Yes. Clients with the following conditions CANNOT be treated:

  • Liver or kidney disease
  • Epilepsy
  • Pacemaker
  • Radiation sickness or receiving radiation therapies
  • Any form of cancer (even if in remission)
  • Immune suppressed disorders
  • Pregnant or nursing mothers
  • Type 1 Diabetes (insulin dependent)
  • Bell Palsy
  • Photosensitive skin disorder or client is taking photosensitive medication or supplements e.g. St John’s Wort
  • Diagnosed and/or undergoing treatment for any form of mental disorder
  • Clients with dermatitis or infection in the treatment area

NOTE: Although not a medical contra-indication, clients with a tattoo in the treatment area CANNOT be treated as it may cause fading of the tattoo.

Clients with the following conditions may be treated if a certificate is obtained from a GP regarding suitability for treatment. We do however reserve the right to refuse treatment if we deem a client as unsuitable for a procedure:

  • HIV carrier
  • Type 2 Diabetes
  • Recent surgery or minor operations within the last six weeks
  • Recent injury awaiting treatment/surgery
What parts of the body can be treated?

Laser lipo can be used to treat the following areas:

  • Cheeks
  • Chin
  • Neck
  • Arms
  • Male Chest
  • Stomach
  • Back
  • Hips
  • Thighs
  • Knees
  • Calves
How many treatments will I need?

We recommend a course of at least 6 treatments for the best results but we also offer 12 treatment courses, depending on the goals of the client. Discounts apply for a course of treatments.

Why do I have to exercise?

Laser Lipolysis transfers the ‘fuel’ stored in the adipose fat cells into the bloodstream through the process of lymphatic drainage. The body needs to burn this fuel through exercise. For clients who lead a more sedentary lifestyle committing to a course laser lipolysis treatments and the complementary new exercise regimen, has many additional health benefits. The improvement in self-esteem can have a cumulative effect, whereby improvements are made with each subsequent treatment making them more effective.

How long is each treatment session?

Each session lasts from between 45 minutes to an hour.

How long will it take to see results?

Measurable results are available after the first session where total inch-loss can be over an inch. To see more significant visible results, we recommend a course of 6 – 12 treatments.

Is the inch loss permanent?

The answer to this question is in your own hands! It can certainly be permanent providing you maintain a healthy lifestyle. Our aim is to provide the kick start to set you on this path – it is not to provide a quick fix.

Will I lose weight?

The removal of stored fat through treatment and exercise will mean you carry less fat and a loss in weight may follow. However, a better gauge to the success of the treatment is by measuring the treated area, for example, better fitting clothes. The reason for this is that improved muscle mass and bone density through exercise can cause an initial increase in weight due the higher density of muscle over fat.

Is it the same as liposuction?

Abolsutley not. Lipolysis and liposuction are two entirely different things. Liposuction is an invasive surgical procedure where fat is literally sucked out of the body using appropriate apparatus. Lipolyis is the breakdown of fats and other lipids, in the case of laser lipolysis, using low level laser technology. This latter procedure is totally non-invasive.

I’ve seen laser lipo courses advertised on group buying websites for less. Why are they cheaper?

The deals offered on group buying websites are designed to attract a high volume of sales in as short an amount of time as possible. This often means clients are unable to choose their own appointments, equipment, training and surroundings are often sub-standard and insurance may be lacking. The group buying companies also take a large percentage of any bookings made, making them the only real winners.

Our service has a happy client at heart, not fast profits. We realise that clients are making an investment in themselves and we strive to ensure our clients get returns on their investment. Our gym is fully equipped and available to all our clients, regardless of the treatment they are having. We are fully insured. All our technicians are trained and certified and we constantly invest in further training in all aspects of weight loss and aesthetics, from the cutting edge technology used to nutrition and exercise trainer certification. We strive to keep improving the client experience with investment in new equipment and improvements to our surroundings.

Our goal is help clients achieve their goal in a way that could literally change their lives for the better.

Is it painful?

Not at all. Most clients say that they hear a high-pitched buzz in their ears when receiving treatment. This is not uncomfortable and is perfectly safe and normal.

Is it safe?

Cavitation is completely safe and pain free. A warm sensation may be felt during the treatment but there is no discomfort. There is no down time whatsoever following a treatment. Driving, the operation of machinery and any daily activities can be resumed immediately.

Are there any health issues that might prevent me from being treated?

Yes. Clients with the following conditions CANNOT be treated:

  • Pacemaker or internal defibrillator
  • Superficial metal or other implants in the treated area
  • Any form of prosthesis, replacement joint or metal plates in the treated area, for example, lower leg prosthesis
  • Severe concurrent conditions, such as cardiac disorders
  • Pregnant or nursing mothers
  • Clients with a history of diseases stimulated by heat, such as recurrent Herpes Simplex in the treated area, may be treated only following a prophylactic regime
  • Any active condition in the treatment area, such as sores, psoriasis, eczema, or undiagnosed rashes
  • Any surgical procedure in the treatment area within the last 3 months or before complete healing

Clients with some contra-indicated conditions may be treated if a certificate is obtained from a GP regarding suitability for treatment. We do however reserve the right to refuse treatment if we deem a client as unsuitable for the procedure.

What parts of the body can be treated?

Ultrasonic cavitation can be used to treat the following areas. It is never used over bony areas of the body, such as hips, back or head:

  • Stomach
  • Thighs
  • Bottocks
  • Arms
I’ve seen ultrasonic cavitation offered as a treatment by itself. Do you offer the same?

Used on its own, ultrasonic cavitation is less effective for inch loss. It works in conjunction with laser lipo or our combination treatments to enhance the effect of complementary procedures. For example, the low pressure bubbles created by ultrasonic cavitation can be used prior to laser lipo to weaken cell cohesion within hardened ‘pads’ of fat but its primary use is to further empty the contents of adipocytes with porous membranes following laser lipo. We do not therefore offer ultrasonic cavitation as a treatment in its own right.

How long is each treatment session?

Following a laser lipo treatment, gel is applied to the treatment area prior to cavitation to assist the movement of the treatment head. With the treatment the whole procedure takes about 10 – 15 minutes per area.

Is it painful?

No, though care must be taken to ensure patient comfort during the procedure. This is particularly important for abdominal treatments.

Is it safe?

Yes, vacuum massage is completely safe and non-invasive. Some clients may experience some minor bruising following the treatment but in such cases, healing is usually very quick.

Are there any health issues that might prevent me from being treated?

Yes. Clients with the following conditions CANNOT be treated:

  • Pacemaker or internal defibrillator
  • Superficial metal or other implants in the treated area, such as dental crowns and bridges
  • Any form of prosthesis, replacement joint or metal plates in the treated area, for example, lower leg prosthesis
  • Severe concurrent conditions, such as cardiac disorders
  • Haemophilia
  • Pregnant or nursing mothers
  • Any active condition in the treatment area, such as sores, psoriasis, eczema, or undiagnosed rashes
  • Any surgical procedure in the treatment area within the last 3 months or before complete healing

Clients with some contra-indicated conditions or medications may be treated if a certificate is obtained from a GP regarding suitability for treatment. We do however reserve the right to refuse treatment if we deem a client as unsuitable for the procedure.

What parts of the body can be treated?

Vacuum massage can be used to treat the following areas:

  • Stomach
  • Legs
  • Buttocks
How long is each treatment session?

Vacuum massage is used as part of a combination treatment protocol, which usually last about an hour. Taken in isolation, vacuum massage treatments last for approximately 10 minutes.

How long will it take to see results?

The combined treatments that vacuum massage support, include other treatments such as laser lipo and rf skin tightening. Visible results usually take a couple of weeks but the ongoing regeneration of collagen fibres can take 3 – 6 months to see final results. However, these results often amaze clients.

Is it painful?

Not at all. Some warmth is generated where the treatment head is applied but this is a very comfortable and relaxing sensation.

Is it safe?

Completely. It is a non-invasive procedure that encourages the body to regenerate new collagen protein fibres itself by using high frequency waves of energy to selectively heat the sub-dermal tissues. No surrounding tissues are affected, there is no down time nor any redness or soreness at all following the procedure.

Are there any health issues or other contraindications that might prevent me from being treated?

  • Current or history of skin cancer, as well as any other type of cancer or pre-malignant moles
  • Severe concurrent conditions, such as cardiac disorders
  • Pregnant or nursing mothers
  • Impaired immune system, such as AIDS and HIV, or use of immunosuppresive medications
  • Diseases which may be stimulated by the wavelength used, such as history of Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE), Porphyria and Epilepsy
  • Clients with a history of diseases stimulated by heat, such as recurrent Herpes Simplex in the treated area, may be treated only following a prophylactic regime
  • Poorly controlled endocrine disorders, such a diabetes or Polycystic Ovary
  • Any active condition in the treatment area, such as sores, psoriasis, eczema, or undiagnosed rashes
  • Facial laser resurfacing and deep chemical peeling within the last 3 months, if the face if treated

RF skin tightening can be used to treat the following areas:

  • Stomach
  • Décolletage (Chest)
  • Arms
  • Legs
  • Face
  • Chin
  • Cheeks
  • Neck
How long is each treatment session?

This varies depending on the area and the treatment protocol. For a specialised treatment, such as our Ultimate Face Lift, the procedure can take up to 45 minutes. For single areas, such as around the eyes to target so-called crows feet, the treatment is usually about 10 minutes.

How long will it take to see results?

During a treatment, existing collagen tissues shrink, providing an immediate tightening and plumping effect. This can be visibly noticeable straight after the treatment. The promotion of new collagen stimulated by the treatment results in skin remodelling that takes place over 3-6 months and lasting up to 2 years. Top-up treatments every 6-9 months can prolong this effect.

Is it painful?

No! Both facials are extremely relaxing and nourishing for the skin.

Is it safe?

We only use organic and natural products at Ascot Body Sculpture. Our Simply Organic Facial incorporates simple holistic techniques with pure organic products. Our Gua Sha Facelift uses gently applied jade tools to lift and firm the facial muscles. For the face, production of the Sha is not recommended but stimulation of the skin is, so pressure points and facial muscles are invigorated and promote lifting to the face.

Are there any health issues or other contraindications which might prevent me from being treated?

During your consultation, we will ask you to fill in a consultation form. We obviously cannot treat your face if you are currently suffering from viruses such as colds, cold sores, or warts, bacterial infections such as impetigo, boils, conjunctivitis, or styes, fungal infections such as ringworm, or blepharitis. We would also be unable to treat you if you have any undiagnosed lumps or swelling, broken bones in the area, known sensitivity or allergy to products, eczema, psoriasis, fresh bruising, open sores, bleeding, or mild acne.

If you have recently had botox or had your eye brows microbladed we cannot treat this area or around this area.

How long is each treatment?

Both the Simply Organic Facial and the Gua Sha Facelift are 1 hour plus a short time for consultation

How often should I get a facial?

For our Simply Organic Facial, we recommend once monthly facials to help aid in the cell turn over process which happens approximately every 30 days. As we age, this cell turn over process slows down, contributing to dull sallow looking skin, fine lines, wrinkles, blackheads, congestion, and coarsely textured skin. Monthly facials assist your body in doing more efficiently what it is”supposed” to do on its own.

For our Gua Sha Facelift, we recommend once weekly facials. This increases blood flow circulation to the face by 400% bringing fresh nutrients and oxygen to the dermis and stimulating key facial muscles under the skin. The Gua Sha facial is much more gentle on your skin that a traditional facial so does not activate desquamation, although mild exfoliation will occur. We recommend this facial once a week for 6 weeks to bring your skin and its underlying muscles into optimum condition.

What can I expect during a facial treatment?

When you arrive, you will be asked to fill out a consultation form. Our Simply Organic facial consists of a double cleanse with steam, exfoliation, facial and upper body massage, facial mask, and hydration. Depending on the facial and your skincare history, the exfoliation performed will vary. All facials are uniquely customised to target your specific skincare needs.

The Gua Sha Facelift is uses traditional jade gua sha tools to release muscle tension and tighten the skin, silicon cups to increase fresh blood into the areas and also relax the muscles, jade rollers to cool and reduce puffiness in the face, a nourishing honey mask to feed the skin, a 19-pressure point face lift to reduce tension and stress and lift the face, and finally a cooling, refreshing tone with corn silk tassel tea bags, renowned for their beneficial properties.

Do men get facials too?

Absolutely! Facials are very beneficial for men too, and can help reduce skin sensitivity from shaving as well as other concerns from lack of proper at home skincare. If you do suffer from sensitivity after shaving, it is recommended that you do not shave immediately before your facial, as this can lead to further irritation.

What can I do to prepare for my treatment?

By booking a treatment with us, you are making an investment in yourself so you’ve already made a start in getting yourself into a fitter, healthier state of mind. There are some simple changes you can make in the lead up to your treatment that will contribute to better results:

  • Try to drink 2 litres of water throughout the day
  • Swap high calorie snacks for slow-release more fulfilling whole foods
  • Use the stairs instead of the lift
  • If you get hungry between meals, drink a glass of water and drink a glass of water before a meal to help fill you up
  • Limit your intake of alcoholic drinks to a minimum whilst undertaking any of our courses of treatments
  • Eat slowly. It takes time for your body to register how full it is so by slowing down it can help the complex hormonal cross-talk system time to keep up
What should I wear?

Comfortable clothing should be worn, for example, loose fitting sportswear. For laser lipo treatments below the chest e.g. the abdomen, small laser paddles are placed over the inguinal lymph nodes situated in the groin area. Modest underwear or alternatively for female clients, bathing suit separates are therefore advised. Cooling gel is used for ultrasonic cavitation and rf skin tightening treatments. This does not stain but can occasionally come into contact with clothing.

I work during the day. Do you offer evening or weekend appointments?

Yes. We are open Monday – Saturday from 9.00am – 9.00pm.

How long will the consultation take?

Initial consultations generally last about 15 – 30 minutes. Clients are asked to complete a medical questionnaire to establish any contraindications and given an overview of the treatment of interest to establish current knowledge, explain the procedure and to give clients the opportunity to ask any questions.

Can I start a treatment straight after my consultation?

Yes! Providing there are no contraindications, treatments can start immediately. Suitable clothing should be worn and make-up may need to be removed for facial treatments so a little preparation prior to your visit will help.

Can I use your gym after my treatment?

Yes and at no additional cost. The gym is available to all clients after treatments and not only clients having inch loss treatments. With everything on-site and ready to use, if it gives you more time then we’re happy that we can help!

Are you insured?

Yes we are fully insured by Beauty Professional Direct for public, products and treatment liability.

Which payment methods are available to me?

We accept all major credit cards including American Express. Payment by cash is also acceptable.

Do I have to pay in advance?

We request payment after signing the client agreement, usually following the initial consultation.
